Software for accountants: every client's books in one place

Guliel is accounting and finance-operations software that runs invoicing, expenses, purchasing, payroll, reporting and a double-entry general ledger on one engine. For an accountant, each client business is a Guliel organisation with its own ledger, documents and users, and you move between clients under one login. Guliel prepares the records; you review, approve and sign. Guliel does not file tax returns.

Accountant in the loop: what is live, what is planned

The software carries the volume; the judgement and the signature stay with you.

Expenses captured from scans and inboxes wait in review; only a manager can approve them into the ledger Live
An expense can be approved only if it is an invoice, receipt, invoice-receipt, credit memo or debit memo that carries the issuer's document number, with the source document kept Live
A manager sets the books lock date Live
Roles per organisation (manager, contributor, viewer), applied to people and AI alike Live
A sign-off queue where you approve work the AI prepared Planned
GST and VAT return preparation Planned
Matching businesses whose records Guliel prepared with accountants open for new clients Planned
Filing tax or payroll returns Not done by Guliel; you file

A card-charge confirmation, a supplier statement or a payment request is kept as evidence but never posted as an expense. A contributor cannot approve an expense someone else entered.

Every client under one login

  • Each client is its own organisation, with its own country rules, document numbering, ledger, lock date and users.
  • A client invites you by email with a role, or you create the organisation and invite the client. Either way, you switch between clients from the same login.
  • A viewer reads documents, the ledger and reports. A contributor also issues documents, records expenses and posts journal entries. A manager also approves captured expenses, sets the lock date and manages users.

The ledger you work in

  • Postings come from the documents. Issued invoices, approved expenses, recorded payments and payroll post to a double-entry general ledger on a fixed chart of accounts. Nothing is re-keyed into a second book.
  • Journal entries. Opening balances, accruals, depreciation and write-offs go in as manual journal entries. An entry needs at least two lines and must balance, or it is refused.
  • Service periods. Give a document a service period, such as an annual policy or a retainer paid upfront, and the ledger spreads the income or expense across it day by day, holding the remainder as prepaid or deferred.
  • Statements. Trial balance, balance sheet, general ledger, income statement and cash flow statement, next to receivables aging, customer statements and tax reports: 49 report definitions in all, each downloadable as PDF. See Reports.
  • Books lock. A manager sets the lock date. Journal entries dated on or before it cannot be added or deleted, and an expense dated inside locked books cannot be approved or un-approved. Corrections go in after the lock date.
  • CSV export. The ledger exports as CSV (date, source, account, debit, credit) for your working papers or another system.

Not built yet: the chart of accounts is fixed today, and custom accounts are planned. Guliel does not connect to bank feeds or reconcile bank statements yet. There is no fixed-asset register; depreciation is booked as a manual journal entry.

Records that reach you connected

  • Expenses. Clients scan receipts and bills or connect an inbox (Gmail, Outlook, IMAP, POP3). OCR reads each one and AI assigns a category from the client's own list. See Expenses.
  • Purchasing. Captured bills are matched to purchase orders by amount and date, and a supplier invoice links to the order it bills. See Suppliers.
  • Source documents. Export a client's expenses as a ZIP of the original receipts and bills, foldered by month, with a CSV manifest.
  • History per document. Each document keeps a timeline: created, issued, sent, viewed, paid, scanned, approved.
  • Payroll. Singapore payroll (CPF, SDL, FWL and self-help group funds) with payslip PDFs posts to the ledger. Elsewhere, including Israel, a generic payroll profile runs without statutory contributions. See Payroll.
  • Automations. 14 triggers, including overdue invoices and daily, weekly and monthly schedules. An action is any API operation or an outbound webhook. An email action is planned.

AI on the same records, under the same rules

The built-in AI companion runs with the signed-in user's role and shows each step it takes in the chat. Any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol, for example Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot, connects through OAuth 2.1. You choose which organisations and scopes it gets, and it can never exceed your role in each. Grant read-only scopes and it can read a client's books but not change them.

The engine applies the same rules to an AI as to a person: numbering at issue, totals from line items, country document rules and balanced double entries. A sign-off queue where you approve AI work is planned.

Israel and Singapore

Israel. Tax invoices (חשבונית מס), invoice-receipts, receipts, credit notes and payment requests in Hebrew, issued as PDF, with tax reports through an Israel adapter (live). Allocation numbers (מספר הקצאה) are required above ₪5,000 since June 2026; Guliel's SHAAM integration is built and not yet switched on. Client documents import from the uniform file (מבנה אחיד) and from Morning exports. Guliel reads the uniform file; it does not produce one today.

Singapore. GST tax invoices as PDF, Singapore payroll and tax reports (live). Guliel's own Peppol access point is built and awaiting OpenPeppol certification. It is not yet connected to the app, and producing InvoiceNow (Peppol BIS Billing) files is planned. Documents are PDF today.

Elsewhere. Guliel issues documents in the PDF formats of 39 countries in total, across 10 format families, including Israel and Singapore above.

Bringing a client over

A client does not have to move everything at once. First it connects: it issues documents, captures expenses and works with suppliers in Guliel while its current tool stays in place, and the ledger exports as CSV for you (live). Then automations take over routine steps. When the client is ready, its records move in:

  • Morning client and document exports (documents arrive with their status, without payment records)
  • In Israel, documents from the uniform file
  • From any other tool, the customer list through Guliel's spreadsheet template (name, tax ID, email, phone, address, city)

Every import runs a column check and a staged review before anything is written. Direct Morning API sync is built and not switched on. There is no importer for QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho, Wave, FreshBooks, Invoice Ninja, Stripe or Shopify; connectors for all eight are planned, and until then the old history stays in that tool or its export. See Migrate.

Pricing

Pricing is per organisation, not per seat: each client business is its own organisation, and its whole team shares one fee. Free is $0 for 200 invoices, 100 expense scans, 10 reports and 5 automations a month. Standard ($20) and Premium ($99) per organisation per month are published prices; billing is not live and paid plans are not on sale yet. There is no firm plan. FAQ

Is Guliel accounting software?

Yes. Guliel is accounting and finance-operations software with a double-entry general ledger: journal entries that must balance, a trial balance, balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and a books lock date. Invoicing, expenses, purchasing, payroll and reports run on the same engine.

Can I manage all my clients from one login?

Yes. Each client is a separate organisation with its own ledger. You switch between them under one login, and your role is set per organisation.

Does Guliel file tax returns for my clients?

No. Guliel prepares the records and reports; you review, approve and file. GST and VAT return preparation is planned.

Can AI change a client's books without me?

Only within the role and scopes it is given. With read-only scopes it cannot write. Expenses captured from scans and inboxes still wait for a manager's approval before they reach the ledger. A sign-off queue where you approve AI work is planned.

Can I export a client's ledger?

Yes. The general ledger exports as CSV, reports download as PDF, and a client's expenses export as a ZIP of the source documents with a CSV manifest.

Do my clients have to stop using their current tools?

No. They can run Guliel beside their current tool while they move over, then import Morning exports, the Israeli uniform file or a customer spreadsheet. Connectors for QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho, Wave, FreshBooks, Invoice Ninja, Stripe and Shopify are planned.

How much does it cost per client?

Pricing is per organisation, not per seat. Free is $0 for 200 invoices and 100 expense scans a month. Standard ($20) and Premium ($99) are published prices, and paid plans are not on sale yet.

Start free with one client organisation, then add the rest.
